Children’s Liturgy of the Word
The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered during the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass for children of elementary school age. Following the Opening Prayer, children are invited to gather in a separate space where they hear and reflect upon the Sunday Scripture readings and Gospel at an age-appropriate level.
Led by trained parish volunteers, this ministry helps children come to know and love Jesus through prayer, Scripture, discussion, and engaging activities that connect the Word of God to their everyday lives. Before the Liturgy of the Eucharist begins, the children return to the church to rejoin their families and participate in the remainder of the Mass.
The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a wonderful opportunity for young parishioners to grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith while becoming active participants in the Church’s worship.
